Cut costs and stay cool with energy-efficient HVAC ducting from Euro Air

For Euro Air Southeast Asia, sustainability is much more than just a buzzword. We’re fiercely committed to conserving resources, reducing our carbon footprint, and recycling our raw materials—all in the name of a better climate, indoors and out.

When it comes to sustainability, textile ducts offer a wide range of advantages over traditional HVAC systems. Let’s see what they are:

Cradle to Cradle certified products

Euro Air proudly provides the world’s only Cradle to Cradle certified textile ducts, CradleSox. Cradle to Cradle Certification was developed by Dr Michael Braungart and William McDonough as a means of recognizing safer, more sustainable products made for the circular economy. Cradle to Cradle certification encourages manufacturers to carefully consider each material that goes into a product, as well as every resource used in the production process. Cradle to Cradle certified products aspire to be 100% recyclable.

In keeping with that goal, our air distribution ducts consume as few resources as possible during production and are composed almost entirely of recyclable raw materials. Every stitch and fibre of our textile solution is engineered with environmental impact reduction in mind.

Low system operating pressures save energy

Textile ducts heat, cool and ventilate indoor environments much more efficiently than traditional HVAC systems, resulting in much lower system operating pressures and significant energy savings. This is because the entire surface area of a textile duct acts as one big diffuser, distributing air evenly across its entire length.

Cool air pours down naturally from the surface of a textile duct to collect uniformly in the inhabited portions of a room. Meanwhile, heated air can be projected outwards with the aid of high impulse nozzles and laser-cut holes with flow control baffles.

By distributing air uniformly across the occupied area of an indoor space, textile ducts operate extremely efficiently even at low cooling capacities, allowing them to maintain a climate-controlled environment with much less energy than traditional HVAC systems.

High-quality materials extend product lifespan & reduce waste

All of our textile materials are produced in our very own weaving mill in Denmark. They are quality controlled to meet the very highest international standards, guaranteeing a reliable, long-lasting product.

This is partly thanks to the incredible quality of our raw yarns, which are carefully selected from just a handful of boutique European suppliers. The entire textile production process is strictly monitored from start to finish and our raw materials are rigorously inspected before, during and after production to guarantee optimal tolerances. All this attention to detail has resulted in quality control standards comparable to those in the automotive industry, with an average of just 1.5 defects per 100 running metres of textile.

The quality of these raw materials is amplified by our heat-set stabilizing machinery and multi-level inspection processes. We’ve had more than 25 years to perfect our craft, and are constantly investing in new and improved ways to futureproof our products.

Thanks to their lightweight, flexibility, and modular design, textile ducts are also incredibly easy to take down, clean and reinstall. This makes periodic maintenance a breeze, increasing each system’s functional lifespan while guaranteeing optimal, draught-free performance. Better yet, many of our raw materials are designed to be fully recyclable, ensuring minimal waste and a circular product lifecycle.

All of Euro Air textile ducts are produced in our very own weaving mill in Denmark.

Lightweight materials lower fuel consumption during shipping and transport

The average weight of a Ø-500 x 1.000mm section of textile ducting is approximately 550g. Meanwhile, a Ø-500 x 1.000mm section of galvanized steel ducting weights approximately 8,770g, 15 times more than its textile counterpart. Lightweight, flexible materials can minimize shipment volume and significantly lower costs by dramatically reducing fuel consumption during transport. Less fuel means fewer carbon emissions, a win-win for shipowners and the natural environment alike.

Intuitive mounting process reduces power consumption during installation

With lightweight, flexible materials and a convenient modular layout, textile ducting is incredibly easy to install, accelerating build times by up to 70% and reducing fuel, transportation, labour and power costs. More importantly, by eliminating complex, heavy workloads and reducing build times, textile ducts dramatically cut down on power consumption. Textile ducting’s lightweight, light impact installation benefits both pocketbooks and the planet.

Euro Air is fast becoming the smart choice for developers, architects and designers in search of more sustainable HVAC solutions in Southeast Asia. Take for example Pizza 4Ps, an award-winning restaurant group in Vietnam.

The Pizza 4Ps franchise has a deep respect for local context and sustainability, especially when it comes to sourcing ingredients. They produce their own cheese, herbs and vegetables, and have even begun to cultivate their own compost driven farms to recycle food waste. As a brand that prides itself on sustainably-sourced food, admirable CSR activities and eco-friendly contemporary design, Pizza 4Ps was a perfect match for Euro Air’s green ethos.

“We always want to build something green or close to nature, something sustainable, and Euro Air fit right on that target,” says Kyohei Takahashi, a Project Manager with Takashi Niwa Architects, the firm behind Pizza 4Ps latest restaurant in Hai Phong.
